Problems we repair

  • 01

    Leaks and damp spots

A sudden jump in the water bill, damp spots, mold or mildew, noises in the walls, or a meter that keeps moving when everything is off all point to a leak.

  • 02

    Low water pressure

Common causes are mineral buildup in the pipes, a hidden leak, or a failing pressure regulator. A short inspection tells us which.

  • 03

    Clogs and slow drains

Hair, grease, soap scum, food scraps, wipes and tree roots are the usual suspects. We would skip chemical drain cleaners; they can damage older and PVC pipes.

  • 04

    Running toilets and dripping faucets

Add a few drops of food coloring to the tank and wait 10 to 15 minutes. If color reaches the bowl, the flapper or fill valve is leaking. A dripping faucet usually needs a new washer or cartridge.

How we work a repair

  1. A

    Stop the damage

If water is coming out of a wall or ceiling, shut off the main supply first and call us.

  2. B

    Find the cause

We track down where the problem starts, not just where it shows up.

  3. C

Fix it and check around it

We repair the problem, then inspect nearby pipes and connections to prevent the next one.

03

If a pipe has burst

Shut off the main water supply, open faucets to relieve pressure, and turn off electricity if water has reached outlets. Then call us at 435-764-3548, remove standing water, and photograph the damage for your insurer.

To prevent frozen pipes, insulate exposed lines, keep the house at 55°F or warmer, let faucets drip on freezing nights, and drain outdoor hoses.

Questions

How can I tell if I have a leak?

Watch for a sudden rise in your water bill, persistent low pressure, damp spots, mold, unusual sounds in walls, or a meter that moves when all water is off.

Can I use chemical drain cleaners?

We do not recommend it. Harsh chemicals can damage pipes and pose health risks. Try a plunger or drain snake first, or call us.

How often should plumbing be inspected?

At least once a year. Homes over 40 years old, or with hard water, may need checks every six months.

What causes low water pressure?

Clogged pipes from mineral buildup, hidden leaks, or a malfunctioning pressure regulator.
